Bowler Reactive Ball Maintenance: Bowling balls with a Reactive surface require cleaning, finishing, and resurfacing to maintain performance for each bowler. General maintenance to the ball will increase the balls life, performance, and appearance. Our shop recommends you clean your reactive ball after finishing bowling each time with the proper towels and ball cleaners. Changes to the surface of the ball may be necessary to make a ball react better on a certain lane condition. Also, your “track” area on the ball, (where the oil lines show on the ball) will wear out in that area of the ball. Our recommendation includes clean the ball after use, clean and finish after 30 games, resurface the ball to original factory specifications after 50 games. We are here to help you keep your bowling ball in the best condition.

O’Malley’s Bowling Shop Ball Maintenance:
As noted above, a reactive ball will need Bowling Shop expert to maintain your balls performance based on the number of games. Balls absorb the lane oil applied to the lanes. Balls also get small nicks from the pin decks, gutters, machines, and ball returns. Between absorbing oil and the track nicks, a ball performance falls off after 30-50 games. Each ball manufactured is different. A complete resurface can make your ball look and perform near brand new again.
Our shop uses the Storm Pro Resurface Machine. We do not hand sand bowling balls. This is especially important to keep the ball round and uniform to the specifications set by USBC and the Manufacturer. Our Storm Resurface Machine will keep your ball performing at its best with a minimum maintenance cost.
